You Should Be Taking Inventory Over Your Everyday Life

I am always one to advocate for thinking about how to reinvent yourself. I believe in the power of rethinking the things you allow into your life and investing in your happiness. One of the best ways this is achieved is by taking stock and inventory over my life. There is no crime in wanting to be better. Never feel guilty for wanting to reshape and transform your present reality.

As humans, we are ever-growing. We should always be seeking to become better versions of ourselves. We should always look for ways to release any habits that hinder us from becoming our best selves. How do you imagine growth? How do you imagine yourself? How do you see your life evolving over the next five days, five weeks, five months, and five years?

With all that is going on in the world currently, giving any of these things thought can be challenging. But think about your present life for a moment. If you could afford to change anything, what would that be? The next thing to think about is, how will you get there? What steps are you taking to elevate your life and rid yourself of the dead weight? My advice is to take inventory! As you grow, everything and everyone cannot go.

You have to want more for yourself. No guidance or advice can push you forward if you do not want something for yourself.”

Here are a few of my best tips on how to take inventory over your life to support mental, emotional, and spiritual growth:

Where Do You Feel Stagnant? Build A Plan to Move On

You can’t stay where you don’t feel growth. It will only continue to drag you down. Maybe it’s your home life, love life, or career where you lack forward movement. The only thing worse than feeling stagnant in a situation is actively choosing to remain in the same space you feel holds you back. I can tell you to draft out a plan to move on, and you’ll probably ask me how. The answer is, how you move on from the spaces and places you feel stuck in is all on you. You have to navigate through these experiences and figure out the best strategy to release and move on. You have to want to progress. You have to want to move forward. You have to want more for yourself. No guidance or advice can push you along if it is not something you want for yourself. You cannot feel good about yourself or your life if you remain in spaces that keep you down or hold you back.

Evaluate What Makes You Happy

One of the most challenging things about reassessing your life is being honest about the people, places, and things that no longer serve you. When we’re in a state of dissatisfaction, it’s critical to look at how you’re spending your time, who you’re spending your time with, and where. I’ve found that who and what makes me happy is rooted in observing my surroundings. Where and with whom do you feel most calm and at ease? What activities or projects make you smile and provide your mind and body with a sense of calm. Most people don’t even realize they’re living in a constant state of unhappiness because they lack awareness. You will always drown in despair if you’re unaware of the people, places, and things that make you happy.

“The good thing about life detours is there is always room to course correct.”

Develop Practices That Support Healthy Mental and Emotional Balance

We won’t always be on track; this is okay. The good thing about life detours is that there is still room to correct. What is peace to you? What does balance consist of? What are you doing daily to ensure you’re healthy in all aspects of your life? How are you evolving if you don’t have daily practices to help you better focus on your mental and emotional well-being? Maybe you want to take on yoga or meditation? Perhaps you want to focus on changing your diet; whatever it is that you think will build healthy daily habits, do them. Sometimes we don’t feel good about our everyday life because we aren’t devoting our time to things that build us up and make us feel good. Here are a few starting points:

  • Read More Books

  • Get More Rest

  • Eat More Fruit and Veggies

  • Develop A Better Skincare Routine

  • Lessen Your Screen Time On Social Media

  • Build New Encourage Friendships

  • Practice Being Still for 30 mins Daily
