{ Welcome to Living Dvnly }

— A practice in living well.

The stories we tell shape what we create, how we live, and the meaning we make from both.

Living Dvnly is a creative space exploring the relationship between identity, culture, storytelling, and the ways we experience life. Founded by writer and creative strategist Amber Janae, it examines how the stories we inherit, the perspectives we develop, and the identities we embrace influence our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Through personal essays, cultural observations, original stories, and creative projects, I explore how our experiences shape what we believe, what we imagine, and what we create. My professional work extends that same curiosity into helping others develop their ideas, strengthen their voices, and create work that reflects their perspectives and ambitions.

THE LATEST ESSAYS AND STORIES

  • Outgrowing the Work Is Not the Same as Losing Your Creative Ability

For a while, I thought I had lost my ability to create. At least that's what it felt like. I kept revisiting the language around my work, reconsidering my services, refining the way I presented what I did, and trying to understand why something I had spent years doing no longer seemed to move when I pushed it forward. I could see the list of things that needed to be done mounting. I knew how to do the work, and I knew I could do it well. I simply couldn't find the energy I needed to put the work into action.

  • The Conditions of Good Work: On the Art of Sustaining a Creative Practice

Without a creative practice, strategy becomes reactive and creative direction collapses into aesthetic preference. The work still gets done, but from a shallower place.

  • How the Work We Love Can Change Our Relationship with Ourselves

For a long time, I thought I had finally found my footing. My career felt like it had reached a pivotal point, one I had worked years to achieve. I wasn't chasing titles for the sake of titles, nor was I trying to prove that I belonged in the room. I simply loved what I did. I loved solving problems, building ideas into something people could experience, and creating systems that made other people's work and lives easier. I loved watching someone understand something because of a training, a presentation, or a story I had carefully crafted. There was purpose in my work, and I felt fortunate to have found it.

LIVING                  DVNLY

[Where storytelling becomes a way of seeing.]

Some stories stay with us because they change what we understand about ourselves, other people, or the lives we are creating.

Stories We Return To is a podcast exploring the relationship between identity, culture, storytelling, and lived experience. Hosted by Amber Janae, each episode revisits familiar stories, personal experiences, and cultural moments to examine how they influence the identities we develop, the beliefs we carry, and the possibilities we imagine for ourselves.

Through personal reflection, cultural commentary, and thoughtful inquiry, the podcast invites us to reconsider what we think we know about ourselves and the world, and what becomes possible when we begin seeing things differently.

  • Storytelling Services

I work with founders, creatives, and organizations to develop meaningful narratives, strengthen their messaging, and build an editorial direction that reflects their voice, values, and vision.

  • 1:1 Clarity Sessions

For the ideas, creative projects, and professional decisions that need another perspective, these individual sessions offer space to explore possibilities, work through questions, and find a clearer direction forward.

  • Storytelling Workshops

I develop interactive learning experiences that help creatives, teams, and communities explore the power of storytelling, strengthen their voices, and communicate their ideas with greater confidence and intention.
