Becoming Your Desired Self

One of my favorite quotes to live by is:

Become the person you’ve always dreamed of being. Create the life you’ve been dying to live.

“In this post, I plan to share a few enlightening tips to help you become one with your highest-self. It will be a guide to reinventing who you presently are and re-imagining your life on a whole new level.”

When we think of growth, it can be scary. When the time comes to take a leap of faith to level up in life, we develop so many self-doubt forms. It’s safe to say who you are in this present moment is an entirely different version from your future self or what I like to define as your highest-self. You will continue to grow. You will continue to shed layers. The journey will be uncomfortable, but it will be worth it in the end.

I like to think who I am in this present moment is the very woman I’ve always dreamt of becoming. Yes, I will continue to grow. Yes, I notice imperfections about myself daily that require further growth and change, but I am very much aligned with the desired version of myself.

Becoming this version of myself wasn’t easy. It was a heavy, painful, and sometimes dark process. My journey to becoming my desired self began when I was roughly 23 years old. It was shortly after a horrible break-up. I had been a wreck. As I was working to overcome the pain I had endured from my break-up, I still traveled on vacation, I was still hanging out with friends and being social, and those are the moments that allowed me to have somewhat of an epiphany.

I realized that I had spent so much of my younger years focused on relationships. My focus for so long had been no good guys, friends who didn’t mean well. I finally had enough alone time to accept that I had dedicated so many years of my life to everyone else but me. It was time to take my power back. It was time to focus on the woman I desired to be, which is exactly what I did.

In this post, I plan to share a few enlightening tips to help you become one with your highest-self. It will be a guide to reinventing who you presently are and re-imagining your life on a whole new level. I want to add that reinventing yourself doesn’t mean you’re on a quest to become someone you are not. It does not mean being fake or living a lie. What it means is growth. It means evolvement. It means shedding layers to step into the life you’ve always wanted as the person you’ve always desired to be.

“The quickest way to spiral backward in your growth process is to put your happiness and power in someone else’s hands. You must learn to live and embrace change while simultaneously practicing, not attaching yourself to anyone or anything.”

Get Comfortable With Growth

Growth is painful. At times it will shatter you. There will be moments where you feel it impossible to move forward, and that is okay. You will always overcome your darkest, heaviest moments. Many people want to grow and evolve, but they’re afraid of what the process looks like. They’re fearful of facing themselves and the reality of what a deeper connection to self will reveal. A huge part of evolvement is you being honest with yourself. It will not be pretty, but it will be worth it.

Expect Change but Don’t Cling To It

The more you grow, the more you will attract different people and situations. Each level of your life requires a different version of you. As you evolve into new, elevated versions of yourself, you will attract all types of people and situations. Will everything be positive? Probably not. Will everyone and everything you encounter last forever? Hell no! But will it all benefit you in the long run? Absolutely. It’s easy to expect good things to happen to us in the form of people, opportunities, and even things.

As our lives change and we attract new people or opportunities, it feels good. It’s an elevated experience to feel such joy as the new you. These feelings of joy will cause you to cling tightly to people, places, opportunities, and experiences because of the feelings that they bring. You have to be mindful of clinging so tightly external forces that you lose yourself. The quickest way to spiral backward in your growth process is to put your happiness and power in someone else’s hands. You must learn to live and embrace change while simultaneously practicing, not attaching yourself to anyone or anything.

“Don’t get so caught up in wanting to get to the next phase of your life that you lack appreciation for who you are now. Your growth and the person you desire to become are very much rooted in who you are now and who you used to be honor and appreciate that.”

Visualize Yourself As Who You Seek to Become

I touched on this in a post earlier this week: How to Attract A Life Of Luxury & Abundance. I believe that visualization is one of, if not thee highest form of manifestation. It is you choosing to see yourself on a new path, a new journey, a new frequency. It is an act of courage and truly an act of relentlessness to choose to envision the woman or man that you desire to become daily. Your visualizations require you to be very specific.

How does this new version of you feel internally? What does this new version of you do for a living? What hobbies does the new you have? What extracurricular activities does the new you enjoy? What do you wear daily? Where do you live? What do you drive? Who do you surround yourself with? All of these things are critical when you’re re-imagining your reality.

We often talk about who we desire to become, who we desire to meet, or what we desire to have, but it’s very open-ended. There is so much left to the imagination, so much detail forgotten. Why is this an issue? Because the Universe will always respond to your demands, you get exactly what you ask for when you are not specific. Be bold. Be free. You are already that person; you just have to see it and believe it to attract the physical manifestation.

Trust Your Intuition

Your biggest mistake will always be not trusting your gut instincts. If it feels off, avoid it. If they appear to be untrustworthy, distance yourself. The thing about red flags is, they only get redder. You cannot elevate if you opt-out of trusting yourself. It is self-betrayal to honor what you feel in the moment you feel it. Why is trusting your intuition so important? Think back on your life and some of the most painful experiences. Being brutally honest with yourself, how much pain could have been avoided had you chosen to trust yourself when the signs revealed themselves? Yes, it is hard, but you save yourself a lot of time by choosing not to ignore what you feel. Remember, ignoring what you feel only sets your process back further and further.

My last piece of advice is simply to love, embrace, and accept who you were in the past and love who you are at this moment. Don’t get so caught up in wanting to get to the next phase of your life that you lack appreciation for who you are now. Your growth and the person you desire to become are very much rooted in who you are now and who you used to be, honor and appreciate that.
